Peggy and Michael O’Malley traveled to Hoorn, Holland, to visit Lewes’ sister city and see the Hoorn City Hall (Stadhuis), whose 17th‑century Dutch Revival architecture inspired the Zwaanendael Museum in Lewes. Built in 1931 to commemorate the first Dutch settlement in Delaware, the Zwaanendael Museum reflects the same historic style. Both cities preserve their shared Dutch story through museums that honor early explorers and settlers on opposite sides of the ocean.
