In the Sept. 23 edition of the Cape Gazette, an article highlighted a fifth annual fundraising event to fight addiction. While it is encouraging that efforts to call attention to the pitfalls and dangers of addiction are being addressed by Beebe Healthcare and partners like The Starboard, I find it a tad oxymoronic the event centers on guest bartenders making cocktails to promote addiction awareness. It's like fighting fire with fire!
